David E. Oliver |
David comes from the small farming community of Rockfield, Kentucky. In the early years, Rockfield had everything one needed, a post office, a train depot, a school, a filling station, two churches, and a whole bunch of good hard-working country folks. |
Many things have changed in Rockfield. The depot and filling station are long gone and the old school is now an antique mall. Many of the people of David’s youth have past on, but their memories are still alive in their children and grandchildren, and in David’s presentations. David is a product of this community. He worked on the family farm and the farms of friends and neighbors. He served as a Volunteer Fire Fighter and EMT for some twenty years. In addition, he was a special deputy sheriff and even worked in the funeral business. Aside from all these activities, David found time for a fulltime career with a fortune 500 Company where he has held a variety of assignments over his twenty-four year tenure. |
In 1997, David relocated from his native Kentucky to Detroit Michigan. How would the country boy survive in a big northern city? The answer is through humor. David viewed his move as an opportunity to meet new people and hear new stories. The experience gave David a wealth of new material. His stories outline the differences found on each side of the Mason-Dixon Line. There is a lot more to know about David, and he will be glad to tell you all about it…. |
